The Lady Is A Vamp!

When I found this issue in Interview Magazine a couple months ago I felt as though I was holding pure gold in my hands. Maybe I felt as though I had actually struck gold so didn't want to share with anyone. The concept of the shoot was completely genius yet oh so simple. Megan Fox, one of the most beautiful women (if not, the most beautiful woman) in the world posed for Craig McDean for the June/July issue.

The shoot is so stylised and sleek and bang on trend with the subtle references to vampirism. Her skin is given the texture of milk, soft and pale white to offset the deepest shades and varied textures of black. Her impossible perfection is only confirmed with the duplicate lifesized mannequin she poses so provocatively with.

"If You're Not Wearing Ozwald Boateng, You're Not Dressed Properly!"

The Ozwald Boateng show could not have been more spellbinding if it had tried. Sat in the royal circle, sipping complimentary champagne whilst Ozwald's army of fashionable men cascaded down the catwalk in quick succession of one another, each with their own story, niche and character to display.

Overall it was an experience, to say the least, from the cinematic beginning of his life story right up to the end when he accepted applause with his proud father by his side.

I am absolutely in love with the raw sexuality that Raquel Zimmermann so expertly displays in Spanish Vogue. And of course, she is Brazilian. The stills are shot by the talented Mariano Vivanco. Together they've created a type of opulence that is as raunchy as it is desirable!

Today I was in Paris, exploring all the wonderment that the city had to offer when a message travelled across the English channel to meet my Blackberry messenger screen: "Have you heard the news? Alexander McQueen is dead."

To say the least, Alexander McQueen embodied, epitomised and personified genius in terms of creativity in fashion. In this post, I celebrate the designer within him that tells us so much about the man...

...It's back to black as the world of fashion reaches for the darkest hues in their wardrobe as they contemplate the tragic end to such a great commodity.

Elliot for Love

So I have a new fetish, Love magazine. The typography, the interviews, the attention to detail in each and every editorial, the ability they have to recognise the fashion anti-heros of our generation. They seem to not be fascinated by the super-celebrity but show appreciation for those that lurk on the bottom rungs of the 'attention' ladder. The indie kid, the rocker, the true, unthanked trendsetters that stalk the cobbled streets of England.

So when university set a task to recreate, by any means necessary, a magazine cover... Naturally, Love was my first and only choice.

I roped in a friend. Went to work on a Sunday and tediously slaved over Photoshop. Here it is... not Alex, but Elliot, 19, dead animal collector and funny man from Edenbridge...
